NEW FOR 2009 – SPEAKERS - A new element has
been added for 2009 and that is SPEAKERS. We’ll have
Paleo/Mineral celebrities speaking on their fields in the
Merrimac Room throughout the weekend. Included at this
time are:
Saturday 10:30 - Dr. Ted Daeschler, Curator of
Vertebrate Paleontology at The Academy of Natural
Sciences will speak on The Nunavut Paleontology
Expeditions: Late Devonian Fossils from the Canadian
Arctic. For more information on Dr. Daeschler’s

Saturday 12:00 - Fossil enthusiast Steve Stelz will talk
about Triassic Vertebrate Fossils: Expedition to
Guizhou, China.
Saturday 1:30 - Dr. Lauck Ward, Curator Emeritus of the
Virginia Museum of Natural History will speak about The
Stratigraphy and Paleontology of the Atlantic Coastal
Plain.
Saturday 3:00 and Sunday 12:00 - Author Nancy Viau,
writer of children’s books, will talk about and do a book
signing for her book, Samantha Hansen has Rocks in
Her Head.
Sunday 1:30 – Dr. Ken Lacovara, Associate Professor of
Biology, Director Paleontology and Geology Program of
Drexel University will speak on Giants from the End of
the World: New dinosaur discoveries from the
Cretaceous of Patagonia.

From the PA Turnpike (I-276): Take Norristown exit 333. After tollbooth follow signs for Plymouth
Rd. Turn right at bottom of ramp onto Plymouth Rd. Continue to “T” intersection at traffic light.
Turn left onto Butler Pike. Go one mile bearing left at the “Y” intersection with Militia Hill Rd. Lu
Lu Shriners Temple is on the right.
From the Blue Route (I476): Take exit 20. Follow signs for Plymouth Rd, bearing left. At the bottom
of the ramp turn right onto Plymouth Rd. Continue to “T” intersection at traffic light. Turn left onto
Butler Pike. Go one mile bearing left at the “Y” intersection with Militia Hill Rd. Lu Lu Shriners
Temple is on the right.
